Baby Shower for Ghana: We Want Your Babies!

So, at RHC we know that most baby showers celebrate a new expected child in someone’s life.  Our idea of an RHC baby shower is slightly different.  We are asking you to come join us for the first ever RHC Baby Shower Fundraiser and bring us your babies!

While real life babies are more than welcome, specifically we are seeking baby dolls.  These dolls will be given to the Kekeli women during our training coming up this June.  The training course is called Home Based Life Saving Skills and aims to make delivery safer for mothers giving birth far away from the city.

About half the women in the villages where we work give birth at home.  Most of the time this goes well but when it does not, it is very dangerous.  Hemorrhage is the primary problem at birth and the Kekeli women will be learning ways to stop this bleeding when it occurs in their villages.  Their job is then to educate their communities on these practices.

This is where you come in!  We are raising money for this new program through the fundraiser described in the invitation below.  We are also hoping to collect 50 new or lightly used baby dolls for our program.
