This December, Jess, Steph, and Olivia will be heading back to Ghana for 2 weeks to work with the first group of Kekeli women in a follow-up to their initial training in January 2011.
After training 20 women in basic health principles as part of the RHC collaboration with the Bethel Clinic Compassion Foundation in Akatsi, Ghana it is time to follow-up with the women. Olivia, Steph, and Jess will be working with the 20 women to refresh their skills and teach them new material, encourage them in their work, and evaluate the response to the Village Health Promoter project in the villages. This will be the primary focus of our team while they are in Ghana during the first two weeks of December.
They are also going to work to purchase bicycles for the women so that they will be able to more easily navigate their villages to complete their teachings and house visits.
We are very proud of the work the Kekeli women have done throughout this first year of the program but we know there are many areas where improvements can be made. If you would like to assist us in our efforts to continue the training of these women and our purchase of bicycles for their work, please visit our Donate page and make a donation.
