Beach Excursion

On Saturday January 19th, the Original and New Kekeli groups met for the first time. They piled into a school bus we rented from the Ghana Education Service and headed west to PramPram Beach for a day of socializing and checking out the ocean. Although the excursion was out of the ordinary for normal Kekeli events, we really wanted the two groups to meet each other and begin forming relationships.

By our own informal measures, the day was a success. The beach was beautiful, with palm trees offering shade and the ocean so warm it couldn’t even be classified as refreshing. After introductions we frolicked in the water and the women enjoyed having photos taken of them for the first time at the ocean. We are hopeful that this activity was a good starter for the coming weeks of training with the New Kekeli women, done by the Original Kekeli women, who will soon all be referred to as Kekeli women after graduation on Thursday January 31!

Megan, Marek, and Happy. I was hoping Happy would have her baby while I was there but no luck for me.
