On Friday, November 30th, the Rural Health Collaborative hosted our second annual Portland fundraiser and it was a great success! We would like to thank everyone who took the time to be a part of it. Over 50 people were in attendance and in high spirits. The biggest prizes included a home-cooked Puerto-Rican dinner for 6 and a 5 day Newport Beach house rental with accompanying Disneyland tickets! For those of you who could not make it to Portland PLEASE JOIN US in San Diego! We are having our second annual SD fundraiser to support our projects that will be taking place in Akatsi, Ghana, in January 2013!
The fundraiser will be at the Station Tavern in South Park on December 20th from 6-10pm. Please drop by any time. 100% of the donations received will go straight to our programs and the people of Akatsi. This event will help raise funds to support several programs the RHC will run on our upcoming trip to Ghana in January 2013 and throughout the new year. These programs include leadership training for our existing group of village health promoters and a new health education program with a second cohort of women from the Akatsi District.
Please come by and see us at the Station Tavern to learn more about our programs and the work we do in Ghana! We will be raising money through a raffle, and all donations will be gladly accepted by cash, check, or credit card and are tax deductible (click here to learn more about the current status of our tax exemption). There will be food and drink available for purchase, and the Station has generously offered to donate a percentage of the tab to the RHC.
