The Training Begins – #ghanastyle

2 days ago the RHC team landed in Accra and made the 2 hour journey to the Akatsi District where we work.  They are spending their first weekend getting acclimated to the time zone, the temperature, and solidifying the schedule for the 3 weeks they’ll be there.

Here’s the general outline for their trip:

  • Tuesday – Thursday, Jan 15-17: Leadership Curriculum
  • Saturday, Jan 19: Activity day with current and new Kekeli women
  • Tuesday – Wednesday, Jan 22-30: Kekeli Core Curriculum
  • Thursday, Jan 31: Graduation

We will have updates along the way, with pictures and hopefully some video.  By the end of January, Kekeli women will be trained in 35 villages in the District.  Most of those women will be trained in the core curriculum of basic health training as well as our new leadership curriculum.  The goal is to develop not only trained health promoters but also community advocates who will work toward long-term development in their villages.
