Our departure date is approaching. We leave in 2 weeks! Here are a few updates regarding our trip:
1.Our 4 member team had our pre-trip meeting last Sunday where we discussed issues ranging from the teaching curriculum to lodging to Ghanian customs.
2.We are purchasing various supplies for our aid kits which will be given to each VHW. They will include materials such as bandages, tylenol, condoms, and oral rehydration solution.
3.We now have 3 computers and one digital camera that have been donated. Thanks to all who have helped. We are still hoping to take at least one more digital camera for the clinic. E-mail RDP.Africa@gmail.com if you can help.
4.We are making our final preparations this week, including printing manuals, packing our t-shirts and other supplies, and continuing our conversations with the clinic in Ghana we are working with.
5.In addition to the teaching program we will also be doing some surveys and focus groups in the villages where the VHW women come from. The goal will be to understand better the issues these villages face, particularly in the area of mental health.
